The Department of Mathematics of Smt. S. K. Gandhi Arts, Amolak Science & P.H. Gandhi Commerce College, Kada, Tq. Ashti, Dist. Beed. College came into existence in the year 1996 and is currently offering BSc courses in Mathematics. Since its inception the department has been functioning excellently. Dr. Kulkarni A. M. the founder head of the Department. She is the soul and source of inspiration of the department for a long time. The broad goals of the department are to promote excellence in mathematics from undergraduate to postgraduate level and organize various programmes that stimulate genuine interest in Mathematics and trigger fascination among bright young students for a research career in Mathematics. The various programmes of the department aims at developing the mathematical skills in students and thereby enabling them to acquire fluency and accuracy in elementary calculation, ability to reason clearly and critically, within a mathematical context. To these ends, the department carries out a wide spectrum of inter-related activities, which may be viewed under three broad categories: (a) Seminars on different topics in Mathematics (b) Exhibitions and Regional Quiz competitions and (c) Activities to popularize Mathematics.
