The department of public administration was started since established of the college in 1996. Today it has devoted academic community, committed to high standard of teaching. The interdisciplinary courses being taught in the department brings the staff into contact and collaboration with many other disciplines. The department commitment to basic and applied teaching encourages student to go for higher education as well as research activities. Besides public administration is one of the major subject in various competitive examinations and students joint it usefully in the study of those examination. The department teachers regularly participate in various conferences, seminars and workshops organized by various colleges and universities. This helps to upgrade the knowledge of teachers. Teachers are often invited as a guest recourse person in the various institutes and colleges as subject expert.

The department offers a degree course (B.A. in Public Administration) of undergraduate level. The student can choose Public Administration as a special subject in the third year of this course. Along with the conventional methods of teaching, administrative models, charts are used for making the teaching more effective, open discussion and feedback from the students to provide further scope for up gradation.

In additional to class room learning, excursion, library, internet, computers, seminars and guest lectures are the other means of learning in the department. The virtual learning center, language laboratory and soft skill development center are the other facilities available in the college for independent learning of the student. The continuous evaluation process through group discussion, seminars and internal assessment is very much helpful to know the subject knowledge of student, the department provides free of charges guidance to the competitive guidance cell of the college.
