The Department of Physical Education started functioning in the year 1996. Ever since the inception of the college, the department has been bringing many laurels to the institution. The department provides ample opportunities to the students to engage in various sports and games. The college is having very good facilities for almost all major games. These facilities are quite enough for coaching and for conducting intercollegiate tournaments. The college has a meritorious result in the field of sports and games at the district, university, state and national level. This college regularly takes part in the university championships in almost ( ) sports events, and about ( ) students of this college are blessed with the opportunity to be the members of the university teams. We are proud enough to say that we could produce a number of players
The department has been successful in looking beyond the stereotype image of sports as well such as athletics, handball, basketball, table tennis, etc. The students are encouraged to participate in various games at Zonal, District, University and State level.
Department of Physical Education seeks to become a centre of excellence moulding students into citizens of physically active, emotionally mature, intellectually analytical with moral values and social responsibility
The physical education department provides equal opportunity for all students for their physical, mental and emotional development through sports.
Apart from the college team preparation, we have been conducting coaching camps in Football and Volleyball to the budding youngsters of the nearby locality. Several educational institutions and organised clubs use the infrastructure facilities and sports equipments of this college to conduct their sports meets, tournaments, and coaching camps. The department hosts university championship every year. The department has produced a number of sporting heroes and heroines who won many laurels at university level sports and promote lot of physically fit citizens.
