Since the inception of Department of Botany in the year 1996, it is mainly focusing on to encourage the scientific temperament and environmental awareness among the students. The department is consistently taking efforts to inculcate the importance of environmental values through different activities and participative engagement of the students for the conservation of nature. In addition to this, the department is serving the farmers from neighbouring vicinity by providing consultancieson variousissues like agriculture, horticulture, environmentetc. The department also organizes study tours to accelerate the interest of the students. At present, it consists of four (04) faculty members having the research experience in Taxonomy, Pathology, Physiology, Phycology, Ecology etc. The department of Botany is not only enriched with well-equipped but also having various useful medicinal plants in Botanical garden.

The Department also runs departmental library supported with various reference, research journals and text books etc, for the students and staff. The faculty has also completed two MRP funded by Dr. B. A. M. University, Aurangabad. The department foster the faculty for research activity and participation and publication of research papers in International/ National / State level Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Symposia etc. The department has organized One Day National Seminar on ‘Availability and Utilization of Cryptogamic and Phanerogamic Plants’ on 22nd November 2016 and One DayNational Conference on ‘Role of Microorganisms in Agriculture and Plant Science for Sustainable Development’ on 16th Feb 2018. The department of Botany has facilitated Post Graduate Study as M.Sc. Botany in the academic year 2017-18.The faculty members have the credit of publication of 04 books.The department is working with maximum efficiency by bridging the gap with various firms through MOUs. The faculty uses ICT for effective teaching.
